Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a little artist?
Go to the Profile tab, open Manage Artists, and tap the plus button in the top-right corner.
How do I make a storybook?
Open the Storybooks tab, tap the plus button and choose at least two finished illustrations by the same little artist. Between 2 and 20 illustrations can be bound into one book; after binding, AI generates a cover and title for it.
How is the age at creation calculated?
From the little artist's birth month and the month the illustration was finished, so it is shown as an approximate age in years and months.
Why doesn't my creation appear on the home page?
Check that the matching little artist is selected at the top of the home page; each little artist's doodles and illustrations are listed separately.
What if generation fails?
When an artwork fails to generate, a Retry button appears on its details screen. Retrying keeps the doodle you uploaded, the description you wrote and any completed result, and only runs unfinished steps again, so you do not need to take a new photo. Retrying consumes another creation credit; completed artworks currently cannot be generated again.
How long does one illustration take?
Usually under a minute. It takes a little longer when the queue is busy; the Creation Workshop shows the current progress and how many creations are still ahead of yours, and you get a push notification when it is done (turn this on under Profile → Notifications).
Why am I not receiving completion notifications?
First check that the switch is on under Profile → Notifications, then check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → DoodleVille. Turning the in-app switch off also removes this device's push registration.
What are creation credits?
Creation credits are used to pay for creations: generating an artwork costs 1 credit, and binding artworks into a storybook also costs 1 credit. Credits refresh monthly while your subscription is active.
How do I delete a little artist?
Open Profile → Manage Artists and choose the one to delete. Deleting also deletes every creation belonging to that little artist, and cannot be undone.
How do I delete my account?
Open Profile → Delete Account. You can do this yourself without contacting us. It permanently deletes the account and all of its data, including creative content, little artist profiles and purchase records, and cannot be undone.
How do I cancel a subscription or ask for a refund?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple and must be handled in your own Apple Account: open iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, select DoodleVille and turn off automatic renewal. Deleting your account in the App does not cancel the subscription — the two are handled separately. Refunds are also handled by Apple; submit them through Apple's problem report page. We cannot issue refunds directly inside the App.
Are creations public? Can other people see my child's drawings?
No. There is no public gallery in the App; creations are visible only under your own account. A creation leaves the App only when you actively use the system share sheet. See the Privacy Policy for details.
When Generation Fails
Try these first
Check that your network connection is stable and retry; choose a doodle photo with even lighting and clear edges; describe what is happening in the drawing in a few short words.
Possible causes
A busy service, an interrupted network, an image that cannot be parsed or a temporarily unavailable generation service can all leave a creation unfinished. The creation card keeps your original doodle, so you can retry at any time.
Feedback
Send it in the App
Open Profile → Help & Support → Feedback, complete the form and submit it. You can select the checkbox to attach diagnostic information, which contains only the app version, iOS version and device model — never little artist profiles, doodle or illustration images, or drawing descriptions.
Email us
You can also email doodleville.app@gmail.com; we read every piece of feedback carefully.
Version Information
DoodleVille for iOS requires iOS 26 or later. The current released version is the one shown on the App Store product page.
